Missing youth’s body found in lake

Honnavar: The body of a missing youth was found in a pond creating chaos and outrage in the city here.

The deceased has been identified as Paresh Kamalakar Mesta (21), who went missing during the riot on December 6.

The police are yet to ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide.

Police have deployed personnel for security in the town.

BJP followers and leaders led a funeral procession carrying the body. Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde also participated in the procession.

Hegde accused the State government of being partisan and seeked the arrest of those responsible for Mr. Mesta’s death.

Five persons, Azad Annigeri, Asif Rafiq, Imtiaz, Muhammed Faisal Annigeri and Jim Saeem have been suspected for murder in this case. They were produced in the court whereupon they were remanded to judicial custody till December 21.
