MCC to impose waste segregation from January 16

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has made it mandatory for segregating waste at soucr level in all households and commercial set ups here from January 16.

The MCC had said that a schedule would be prepared for waste segregation for its wards.

Antony Waste Handling Cell Private Limited has received necessary steps in handling waste in all the 60 wards and a final meeting will be held in this regard on January 15.

MLA J R Lobo said that residents should also take this step and segregate the waste before producing it to the units. He requested the citizens to segregate the wet and dry waste before handing it over to the waste collectors.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil said, “Very soon, we will prepare schedule and routes for dry and wet collection.”
