Congress member booked for assault on traffic police

Mangaluru: City Police have booked a case against a Congress leader, for allegedly assaulting a traffic police constable here on Saturday.
Police constable, Puttarama was checking vehicles at Bijai Battagudde at about 11.30 pm when he stopped Amruth Kadri’s car for checking near Bavutagudde, following which, the accused got out from his car and assaulted the traffic police constable.
A case was registered thereafter at Urwa station on Sunday morning.
Urwa police have booked Amrit Kadri under sections 341, 504, 323, and 353 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigation has been undertaken.
