Mangaluru-based techie Jacob Rego ends life

Bengaluru: Mangaluru based Techie who was working for a company in the United States of America has committed suicide inside a hotel room at Chikkajala are in Bengaluru on January 3.

The deceased is identified as Jacob Rego aged 27, who was working for an American Company in the US. On December 18 Jacob had come down to Mangaluru to celebrate Christmas with his family. On January 3rd he arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to return to the US. He entered the airport as his family looked on him and after some time without any notice exited the airport.

Jacob checked in at a House finch lodge at the airport main road at Chikkajala after coming out of the airport. The next day, Jacob didn’t come out of his room. The hotel staffs were suspicious and broke open the room door to find Jacob’s lifeless body lying inside.

Chikkajala police have registered a case but are unable to find the reason for the suicide as there is no note left behind. It is learnt that Jacob was in love with an American citizen. But Jacob’s mother told the police that there were no problems in her son’s life and she cannot guess any reason for his suicide.
