Jaipur: Though Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, keeping in mind the sacrifices made by Rani Padmini for honour and pride for the state, has clearly announced that Padmavat will not be released in Rajasthan, the Rajput organizations in the state have declared protest against the movie’s release in other parts of the country.
Padmavat which is scheduled to be released on Jan 25th has been accused of being vulgur and facts being distorted earlier by the Rajput organizations. They had also demanded changes of the names of the movie’s character after the censor board suggested changing the title of the movie from ‘Padmavathi’ to ‘Padmavat’.
Regarding the CBFC’s decision on releasing the film this month, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, national president of Shree Rastriya Rajput Karni Sena said,”how will we know about the changes that have been made in the movie? The movie should be banned all over the country till we review the changes that are been made are satisfactory or not. We had clearly demanded for the movie to be banned since day one.” Gogamedi also warned that India will burn if the CBFC releases the movie on January 25th.
According to Karni Sena member Mahipal Singh Makrana the film Padmavat is made just to earn money at the cost of distorting values and morals of the country’s history.
