Alcoholic man kills his wife for not giving him dinner

Bengaluru: An alcoholic man killed his wife by beating her with cane and rock for not preparing him dinner on Tuesday night.

The incident took place in Nelamangala limits and the police have registered a case and arrested the accused.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi Narasamma, aged 40, who was married to Venkatesh for 18 years. They resided at Solukunte in Nelamangala. Venkatesh worked as a sweeper in Thyamangondlu panchayat.

On Tuesday night, Venkatesh came home drunk and fought with his wife for not preparing him dinner. The fight turned bitter and he started beating her repeatedly with a cane and a rock for not giving him food. Lakshmi cried out for help and the neighbours rushed her to the nearby hospital where she succumbed to the injuries.
