Kannada activist Chandrashekar Patil joins newly formed Janasamanyara Paksha

Bagalakote:  Writer and Kannada activists Chandrashekar Patil who is popularly known as Champa said that he wants to participate in the assembly elections by joining the newly introduced Janasamanyara Paksha party.

Chandrashekar Patil made the announcement after participating in the formal launch event at Kudalasangama on Monday.

Mr. Patil speaking to the media persons said, “it is my privilege that the party leaders have offered me ticket and have chosen me to represent the party in the constituency to compete in the upcoming elections”.  He wishes to have more regional parties in the state.

Before the 2013 election, Mr. Patil was a member in Karnataka Janata Party then headed by B.S. Yeddyurappa, who had parted ways from the BJP. Mr.Patil had never contested in the elections inspite of being associated with KJP, but he had campaigned for Yedyurappa.

Founder-president of Janasamanyara Paksha T.V. Satish stated that regional issues like Lingayat, Mahadayi issues will be taken up by the party. He said that while the Congress has no clarity on the Lingayat religion, BS Yeddyurappa cannot be reflected as a leader of the Lingayat community. Mahadayi water sharing dispute would also to be an important beam of the party. He also added that the party has come into force only to remove political parties that are against the basic principle of 12th century social reformer Basaveshwara.
