Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday directed the police to improve intelligence gathering.
Addressing the gathering at the police headquarters here, CM asked the Police department to take special care in their areas and prevent any untoward incidents.
Regarding Mangaluru crime cases, he said it could have been averted with proper intelligence inputs. The murders acquired political and communal overtones, and the Congress government is wary of developments that might cast a shadow on the party’s electoral prospects three months from now.
CM said that a special recruitment drive for the intelligence wing will be conducted, and will provide training in technology for those who remain in intelligence.
Siddaramaiah instructed the police to keep an eye out for communal elements, especially in the Dakshina Kannada district.
