Signature campaign raised against Love Jihad

Udupi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini organized a signature campaign against Love Jihad outside MGM College Udupi.

Addressing the gathering, Vilas Nayak, of VHP said, “This is an awareness program and campaign against Love Jihad. Many argue saying this concept doesn’t exist, but the High Court has confirmed the existence of Love Jihad,”

This is a major threat to Hindu religion and convert Hindu girls into Islam, We are not against Love but we are fighting against the concept of ‘Love Jihad’ where a hindu girl is trapped and later converted into Islam, he added.

Suprabha Acharya, vice-president of Durga Vahini said, “Young girls get trapped in these kind of relationships, we are raising awareness against all such acts to prevent Hindu girls from having a tragic ending, Durga Vahini will be visiting various schools and colleges and distribute handbills and warnings against ‘Love Jihad’

“We will make the youth understand the impact of ‘love Jihad’. We hope to achieve huge success. The main objective of the campaign is to prevent innocent girls from falling into the trap of ‘love Jihad’,” she added.

The signs were collected by the students of MGM College during the campaign.

Rama J Rao, president, Durga Vahini, Padma Ratnakar, Bhagya Shree Aithal, Pushpa, Dinesh Mendon, convener of Bajrang Dal, Sunil K R, divisional convener and Santhosh Suvarna of VHP were present.
