UP Cabinet approves ‘one district, one product’ scheme

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved ‘one district, one product’ scheme to promote products indigenous to every district, state Cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh said today.

Singh said, “Implementation of the One District, One Product will boost economic development of the state, and also help in generation of five lakh new jobs annually.” 

Under this, one product indigenous to every district would be showcased at the three-day UP Diwas event beginning tomorrow, he told reporters here. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adiatyanth.

The Cabinet also gave its assent to setting up a Vedic Science Centre (Vaidik Vigyan Kendra) on the premises of Kashi Hindu University.
