Bidar bandh turns violent: police resort lathi charge, MP hurt

Bidar: Bidar MP Bhagawant Khuba was slightly injured when a protest against the murder of a school turned violent in a village in Bhalki taluk on Tuesday. Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Sri Rama Sena, ABVP and district Savita Samaja had supported the bandh. All shops and business establishments in the city was shut down since morning.
The protest ended up with stone throwing and had many injured. The police were forced to take up lathi charge to restore the situation. One of the stones hit District Superintendent of Police D Devaraj in the shoulder.

The police however managed to bring the situation back to normal. The MP demanded for a judicial inquiry into the lathi charge.
