Zaibunnisa’s father demands CID probe into the case

Mangaluru: Parents of Zaibunnisa (12), an eighth standard student of Navodaya Minority Residential School, K R Pet, in Mandya district, who died under mysterious circumstances, demanded a CID probe into their daughter’s death.
Addressing the media at a press conference arranged by Dakshina Kannada committee of Sunni Students Federation (SSF) here on Tuesday Ibrahim demanded a probe into the case and also on Ravi and three others from the organization.
Muhammed Ibrahim, father of Zaibunnisa said “We suspect it to be a murder, and the matter should be probed by the CID,”
Ibrahim also demanded a severe punishment on the physical education teacher, Ravi Shivakumar.
Ibrahim said on that, on the day of her death Zaibunnisa had called him and complained about ill treatment she faced by Ravi. “She accused him of physically and mentally torturing her. She told me over phone that Ravi insulted, abused and beat her up in front of others for not performing well during rehearsals for the Republic Day parade. She also mentioned that the teacher had threatened to strip and thrash her,” Ibrahim alleged.
In her last conversation with the parents, the girl had requested with her parents to change her school. An hour after the conversation, Zaibunnisa was found dead in her hostel room.
SSF will be holding a protest opposite the DC office here on February 3, SSF will demand for a CID probe into this case.
General secretary of SSF, Ashraf Kinara, and members, Rashid Haji Vogga and Khubaid Tangal Ullal were present.
