Bengaluru police arrest four men and rescue the kidnapped boy

Bengaluru: A five year old boy Chandan was kidnapped by four men on Sunday was rescued by the KP Agrahara police. The police open fired at one of the kidnaper when he tried to attack the police with a lethal weapon.
The accused have been identified as Abhishek, a 23 year old Manjunathnagara resident, Srikanth, aged 19 from Chamarajapete, Divyatej, aged 22 and Harshith, 18 both from Kasthurba nagar.
The accused Abhishek was a landlord’s son. He was the mastermind behind the plan. He knew that Chandan’s father Rajesh had recently sold his property. He planned to kidnap the child and demand a ransom.
The four accused were planning for the kidnap from several days. On Sunday afternoon, Chandan was playing in front of his house when two men came in a bike and kidnapped him. Chandan’s parents filed a missing complaint at KP Agrahara police. At 9:30 pm Rajesh received a call from the kidnappers demanding ransom of Rs.35 lakh.
Rajesh tried calling the number but it was not reachable. Rajesh immediately informed the police about the call. The police enquired with the children who were playing with Chandan and learnt that two men came in bike and kidnapped him. The police showed different pictures of the bike to the children and found out that the kidnappers came in TVS Apache bike. Based on these information the police gathered CCTV footages to track the kidnappers.
The police had appointed three special teams on Monday and by evening they traced the kidnapper’s location and found that they were coming back from Mysuru. The police intercepted their car near Kengeri.
The police nabbed the kidnappers and rescued Chandan, during the operation Divyatej, one of the accused, tried to attack the police with machete. The police inspector immediately fired Divyatej’s right leg and he was taken to the nearby hospital. Chandan was then reunited with his parent.
