Mysuru: Forest department launched a combing operation at Mysuru Airport in Mandakalli on Wednesday after a leopard and a porcupine moving on the Golf Club Road in the city went viral on social media recently.
A few months ago a jackal and a wild boar were sighted on the airport premises while a leopard was seen on CCTV footage on Tuesday morning. The forest department managed to drive back the Jackal and wild boar into the forest. On Wednesday, the department carried out a comb operation to catch the leopard and other animals wandering the city but failed to find any animals.
According to the officials, the wild animals enter the premises through the vast open space near Chamundi hills which is very close to the airport.
Though the airport is fully secured with walls and fences, a cage has been placed inside the airport premises to trap any animals entering the place.
A leopard had lost the way and enterted into an apartment in JP Nagar, which was chased away by the residents a few days ago.
