Former BJP MLA Anand Singh quits BJP, joins Congress

Bengaluru: Former BJP MLA of Vijayanagara Assembly constituency in Ballari disrtrict Anand Singh joined the congress on Wednesday.

Anand Singh was closely associated with the Reddy brothers of BJP. He had driven himself away from BJP after Tippu Sulthan Jayanthi celebrations a few months ago. The congress has assured Anand Singh for a ticket to contest in the upcoming elections from Vijayanagara constituency.

With the Assembly elections coming up Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwara formally welcomed Anand Singh to the party. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC working presidents, Dinesh Gundu Rao and S R Patil, were also present.
