Man sentenced to 7-year jail for raping sister-in-law

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A fast-track court here sentenced a man to seven years’ imprisonment for raping his sister-in-law.

Judge Ombir Singh also sentenced the woman’s husband, Devender, to five-year imprisonment for torture over dowry yesterday.

The judge imposed a fine of Rs 19,000 each on Devender and his brother Deepak, according to prosecution lawyer Sitaram Arye. The case dates back to 2015.
