Kaneri Math to inaugurate Dnyanpeeth for Artisan at Kolhapur

Kolhapur – SiddhagiriKaneri Math which is a synonym to preservation and enrichment of the Indian culture by means of thoughts and action. It also emphersized toupliftment of rural livelihood with community development. It is also encouraging young people and Self Help Group to start their own ventures by providing them training and micro-finance.Government wants to new village-to-market through SHG’s.

Present government in the Centre is also keen to ensure livelihood security and lift income levels as part of its larger rural push. The $5-billion (Rs 35,000-crore) industry is largely an artisan-based sector with huge employment potential and nearly 60 per cent of the output being exported. There are 4 lakh artisans engaged in the manufacturing of handicraft goods in the state, of which 1,67,476 are registered and 2,32,524 un-registered.But, such artisan doesn’t get the good price for their goods since middlemen corner the chunk of their reliasation.

Following the success of India’s biggest ever Indian Culture Utsav 2015 organised during 2015, SiddhgariKaneri Math is organisingKaragirMahakumbh 2018 starting from 11th Feb to 15 Feb 2018 at Kolhapur. While explaining the last utsav, PP Swamiji said that Sidhagiri’s Indian Culture Utsav 2015 was attended by more than 18 lakh people from rural India. Similarly, we expect this Mahakumbh 2018 will be attended by more than 5 lakh people from India and also going to be key attraction of foreign tourist who encourage Indian Artisan Skill and their goods.

During this KarigarMahakumbh 2018, Siddhagiri Math is inaugurating Artist Dnyanpeethunder the mentorship of Vice Chancellor, HH Shri AdrushyaKadsiddheshwareSwamiji. This will be inaugurated with the gracious presence of Central and Various State Ministers, Policy Makers and Various  Social Development Institutes key officials on 11th Feb at 11.00 am.

This Dnyanpeeth will facilitate a platform for ancient artist to adopt the various scientific technology and gain up-to date training Centre for the upcoming artist. It is an artistic craftsmanship exhibition of this innovative direct training centre at Kaneri Math.

After the successful of training, it will provide an essential skill-based platform forartisans, weavers, members of co-operative societies and craftsmen to start their independent ventures. The artificial craftsmanship exhibition will be the biggest exhibition in India which will be participated by500 skilled craftsmen.

Key highlights of KarigarMahakumbh 2018 are as follows.

  • Artisan will be attending from various State to present the disappearing artwork of twelve Baluttedar and eighteen Alutedar
  • Bags and hats from coconut leaves
  • Clay carpenter preparation with variety of utensils
  • 200 Wooden toys makers artist to participate
  • Artisans, watches, dolls from animals’ hemp
  • Exhibition and work of various ornamental items and utensils from banana bronze.
  • Artisans who make thousands of ornamental items from conch shells.
  • A sculpted jacket, shroud, augmentation, tablecloth, and a variety of things.
  • Gomata Competition & exhibition of 22 species of indigenous cattle in different parts of the country
  • Unique Food Festival is a celebration of ethnic delicacies with full of traditional and region-wise dishes

Exhibition for organic farming and rare seeds selling pointswith workshops

SiddhagiriKarigarMahaKumbh 2018 will be an unique opportunity to see the craftsmanship of skilled craftsmen in the country which will be a roadmap to school and college students, youths, entrepreneurs and unemployed women’s and people.
