New Delhi: A case has been registered by the Delhi Police against a TV channel journalist following a complaint of rape by a woman, a senior Delhi Police officer said tonight.
The woman alleged that she came in contact with the man in 2016 and she was offered a job in the channel which she joined in April 2017, Additional Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) B K Singh said.
“She alleged that she was raped by the man on June 9 last year at his residence on the pretext of marriage and several times later on,” the officer said. The woman claimed that in October last year, she learnt that the man was already married and had two children, Singh said.
She filed a complaint against the journalist on February 13 and the case was registered last night at the Tughlak Road police station, the police officer said. Her statement was recorded before a magistrate, Singh said, adding no arrest has been made.
