Kodavas protests against government’s decision to build rail connect to Madikeri

Mysuru: Protesting against the central Government’s decision to build a rail connecting to Madikeri, hundreds of Kodavas gathered at the exhibition grounds in Mysuru on Sunday.

The Kodavas arrived in hundreds of cars and buses from Madikeri and walked a procession from exhibition grounds to Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple via Hardinge Circle and Albert Victor Road.

The protest was held carrying placards which read “Save Kodagu, Save Cauvery”. They returned inj the same route and staged a gathering at Devaraj Urs wrestling grounds.

Actor Suresh Heblikar and Supreme Court advocate Brijesh Kalappa also took part in the protest.
