Seven dead, one injured in road accident in Telangana

Hyderabad: Seven persons were killed and another one was injured in a road accident involving two cars in Wanaparthy district of Telangana today, police said. The accident took place in Kothakota mandal of the district around 8 am, they said.

“Seven persons travelling in the cars died on the spot and another one sustained injuries,” a police official supervising the rescue efforts told PTI over phone.

“One of the cars was proceeding from Hyderabad to Kurnool. It as apparently being driven at a high speed. The vehicle initially rammed into a road divider and landed on the other side of the road, where it was hit by another car,” the official said.

According to police, the injured person has been rushed to a nearby hospital and further investigation is on.
