Newborn baby boy stolen from government hospital

Kolar: A couple have claimed that their infant male child was stolen from the government maternity hospital facility in Robertsonpet on Saturday.
Ravichandran a private business employee had admitted his wife Mala on Thursday night for delivery. On Friday morning at 7:20 am Mala gave birth to a baby boy. Mala’s mother Punyavathi took care of the newborn till 2 am on Saturday and went to sleep. At 4 am the abby was missing from its place.
Mala and Punyavathi searched the baby in the entire hospital but did not find the newborn. Tyhe hospital staffs and the people outside the hospital are not aware of the incident.A large numer of pople gathered in front of the hospital.
CCTV cameras have been installed at four locations in the hospital except the main entrance. Meanwhile the baby’s parents accused a 50 year old woman who was moving freely with all the patients in the hospital for the last two days had stolen their baby. The police went theorugh the CCTV footages but the footages were blur.
The police are investigating the case and are enquiring auto drivers who were driving their vehicles at the time of the incident. Superintendent of Police B S Lokesh Kumar, District Health Officer Dr Vijayakumar and City Municipal Council president Ramesh Kumar visited the hospital.
