Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today condoled the sudden death of veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi, who was the leading lady in numerous blockbusters. Sridevi took Indian cinema to new heights through her vibrant and emotional acting, Raje said.

“We have lost a strong actor. Her work in the field will always be remembered,” the chief minister said in her message. She also prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage for the family members to bear the shock.

A Padma Shri awardee, Sridevi, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, passed away in Dubai. She was 54. The actor, wife of producer Boney Kapoor, died late in the night reportedly due to cardiac arrest. She had gone to Dubai to attend nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding.
