Mangaluru: Ola and Uber Taxi Drivers and Owners Association announced that they would go on indefinite strike if their demands were not met.

Addressing the press, B K Imthiyaz from the association said that Ola and Uber have been successfully operating since past three years. Few companies have been wooing youth to operate Ola and Uber taxis with attractive offers. The offers may look attractive but are actually fooling the youth. This has created damage for some. The companies have signed deals with Tata and Hyundai and increased the number of taxis which have put the present operators in trouble.

Ola and Uber operators are facing losses due to frequent changes in norms and policies, they said.

“If our demands are not met within a week, then Ola and Uber operators will go on indefinite strike,” they said.
