Five PWD officers held in sand mining case

Udupi: Police arrested five public works department (PWD) officers for selling illegally procured sand mining permits from the department of mines and geology.
Police have reported that five PWD officers had created fake sand mining licenses and sold them in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
Assistant engineer Lokesh, executive engineer Lokeshappa and two others are being interrogated on this case.
Udupi district police are camping in Chikkamagaluru for further investigations.
