Four year old girl child killed in bear attack

Bhadravathi: A bear attacked and killed a four-month-old child youngster when she was on her mom’s lap in front of her home at Hadlaghatta in the taluk on Wednesday.

The deceased child has been recognized as Poorvi, daughter of Gowramma and Kumar. The bear attacked them and injured the mother, father and sister of the child.

According to the villagers, the family members were sitting in front of the house at 8 am when all of a sudden, the bear pounced on Poorvi. When the family tried to rescue the child, the bear attacked them too. Poorvi succumbed to the injuries and the others are under treatment at McGann hospital in Shivamogga.
