Rock climber Jyothi Raj returns safely

Shivamogga: Rock climber Jyothi Raj, also known as Kothiraj, Indian Spiderman, known for his skill in hiking steep cliffs and buidings by using his limbs alone, came back from the depths of Jog Falls on Wednesday.

Raj had climbed down Jog Falls in search of a missing youth, Manjunath (23) from Bengaluru who had jumped into the water and his body untraceable even after search operations. 

Jyothiraj climbed down the falls along with an assistant around 4 pm on Tuesday. By evening, the assistant came up but even after 10 pm, there was no sign of Jyothiraj until Wednesday morning.

Three rescue teams from Davangere, Chitradurga and Bengaluru were invovled in the search of Raj. Raj was traced on Wednesday morning 10 am.

So far, Jyothi Raj has retrieved over 35 bodies. He has climbed the Jog Falls 11 times through different routes and nine times he has retrieved dead bodies. However, this is the first time he has had to spend the whole night standing in water.
