Chikkamagaluru: The state BJP, cautioned that it would dispatch a stir against the government if it neglects to designate a Hindu priest at the controversial cave shrine of Bababudangiri in Chikkamagaluru district.
Speaking to the media persons on Sunday, state BJP general secretary C T Ravi told that There is no debate on the place of worship since it is now the Muzrai office’s property. The issue was settled long prior according to court order. Rather than delegating a Hindu cleric, the administration has attempted to deceive people by saying that it has chosen to bring the holy place under the department.
The Supreme Court, in 2014, guided the government to select Hindu priests according to the proposal of the Muzrai office magistrate. The government had assured the court that it would do after holding a meeting with the stake holders. However, the Congress government decided not to do so in order to woo the minorities, he charged.
Ravi, the Chikkamagaluru MLA, said Justice Nagamohan Das was one-sided in presenting his reports regarding the issue of giving separate religion status to Lingayats. “We as a whole know how he presented the report regarding the issue of independent religion tag for Lingayats. He composes the report as directed by the government,” he charged.
The state Cabinet led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday chose to acknowledge the Justice Nagamohan Das committee report.
