Mahadayi water dispute: PIL planned

Hubballi: Raitha Sena president Veeresh Sobaradmath said on Sunday that he would document a Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court requesting redirection of Mahadayi water to Malaprabha basin for drinking purpose.
He was talking at a rally – Doctors’ walk towards farmers- sorted out by the Indian Medical Association as a feature of the 400-kilometer padayatra from Bengaluru to Nargund by IMA state president Dr H N Ravindra. Sobaradmath said that in a 500-page judgment conveyed by the Supreme Court as to sharing of Cauvery waters, the summit court had made it clear that drinking water ventures ought to be given best need and no legislature should square it.
“Sponsored by this honor, we will document a PIL in the summit court, requesting arrival of drinking water to the dry spell inclined Malaprabha basin,” he said.
