Pipe bomb explodes, scrap picker seriously injured

Kozhikode: A 19-year-old scrap picker suffered serious injuries today when a ‘pipe bomb’ exploded at Ambalakuzhangara, about 60 kms from here, police said.
The man from Tamil Nadu suffered pellet injuries all over his body, including his eyes, police said.
‘Pipe bomb,’ as it is known locally, is a PVC pipe filled with explosives.
The explosion took place when he tried to open the pipe.
Another scrap picker along with him suffered minor injuries, police said.
