Sugar drops on reduced demand

Mumbai: Prices of both varieties of sugar dropped further at the Vashi wholesale market here today following reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid ample supplies.
Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 42/10 per quintal to Rs 3,070/3,182 from Thursday’s closing level of Rs 3,112/3,192.
Medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 20/8 per quintal to Rs 3,156/3,382 as against Rs 3,176/3,390 yesterday.
Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar(S-30) quality: Rs 3,070/3,182 (Rs 3,112/3,192).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,156/3,382 (Rs 3,176/3,390).
