Boy killed as a sliding gate falls over him

Bengaluru: A 12-year-old kid was killed after a long sliding gate which was installed at the entrance of a product organization’s office in South Bengaluru fell on him on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Manjunath K. Around 4.10 pm Manjunath and his two friends had stopped by at Dassault Systems office situated near NMKRV College in Jayanagar third Block. The gates were long and heavy and didn’t have a track casing to slide upon. Out of the blue, one of the gates broke apart and fell on Manjunath. His friends got terrified and raced to his home to alarm his family.
A security guard of the office said “We keep the entryways 90% shut constantly, however shockingly, one of them left the framework and fell on the kid,” The security guard and his partner Manoj likewise sustained wounds while attempting to lift the gate that had fallen on the kid.
Manjunath was grievously injured as the result of the slide gate falling on him and was immediately rushed to Sagar Hospital in Tilaknagar where doctors proclaimed him brought dead. The hospital sources also said that there was bleeding from Manjunath’s ears.
The Jayanagar police were informed, who hurried to the spot and registered a case of accidental death due to negligence and made the company’s security staffs guilty for the crime.
Manjunath was a class 6 student at Vijaya Kannada Higher Primary School. His father Kumar had passed away while his mom Chandramma is a housewife. The family lives in Jayanagar first Block, police said.
