Bengaluru: A woman producer has been arrested by the Chamrajpet police on Wednesday for neglecting to repay a 12-year-old loan taken from the proprietor of a production company.
The accused has been identified as Jayasri Devi, who was sent to Central Prison in Parappana Agarahara after a city court condemned her to basic imprisionment of one year as her check had bounced. Jayshri Devi has produced a few hit films in Kannada including Sri Manjunatha and Amruthavarshini.
The case was enrolled before the 18th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court by Anand, proprietor of Ashwini Picture Production, after she failed to repay a loan of Rs. 34 lakh with interest.
As indicated by the police, Jayasridevi had taken the loan amid the production of a motion picture named ‘Habba’ 12 years back. The court had sent summons to her on different events.
