Kolar : Car kills two school kids

Kolar: The locals of the Vadagur gate in Kolar taluk on Thursday blocked National Highway 75 in the evening after two schoolchildren were killed and four injured in a mishap.
The deceased have been identified as Narayanswamy (13) and Sudarshan (12), class VIII and class VII students of government high school, Kembode. They are residents of Ramasandra town.
The injured are Vijay Kumar, a student, Venkatappa and Subramani, the two residents of Vadagur town, included the police. The other harmed casualty has not been identified. Venkatappa’s condition is said to be serious.
According to the police, the mishap happened when a gathering of around 80 students were waiting for buses to go home. Venkatappa and Subramani were standing near the road close to a bicycle.
In the mean time, an Andhra Pradesh registered car which tried to overtake a vehicle from the wrong side, lost control and drove his car on the pavement. The car thumped down the two students and after that rammed to Venkatappa, Subramani and others, said the police.
The driver drove further, deserted the auto and fled from the spot. The two boys were killed on the spot, while the injured were taken to a close-by hospital.
Many local people gathered at the spot and staged a protest on the road demanding for development of a flyover to avoid accidents.
The protest resulted in blockage of the road. Vehicles lined up for a few kilometres on the Highway. The police hurried to spot, pacified the crowd and guaranteed smooth traffic movement.
