111th birthday of Siddaganga seer: Guruvandana offered by devotees

Tumakuru: The 111th birthday celebrations of the Walking God Shivkumara Swamiji were launched by lighting as many lamps at Siddaganga Mutt on Sunday. The devotees offered Guruvandana to the revered seer.
A mass Padapuja to the centenarian seer was performed by the mutt heads and seers from across the state.
No elected representatives or politicians were invited to the event as the model code of conduct is in force. But, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, Channapatna MLA C P Yogeshwar did attended the event.
More than a lakh people are expected to visit the Mutt on this event and arrangements have been made to serve food to the gathered at seven different locations on the Mutt premises. As a part of the birthday celebrations, a slew of cultural programmes have been organized. Over 200 police personnel have been deployed in the Mutt to take care of the security concerns.
