MLA Bava’s video of visiting a daivasthana goes viral

Mangaluru: MLA Mohiuddin Bava’s visit to a temple and accepting prasad from the priest has stirred up a controversy here.
Bava had visited Kordabbu daivasthana in Hosabettu which is in his constituency on Friday. He had also accepted a tender coconut from the chief priest and later drank the coconut water at the shrine. A video clipping of Bava visiting the shrine has gone viral on social media.
Many accuse him of violating Islamic rules by ‘visiting a temple for political gains’.
The video has received hate comments, while some questioned Bava of forgetting Islamic rules, another commented, Sri Moidin Poojary.
However, Bava clarified saying, “The Quran has taught me to love my religion and also to respect other religions. Even our prophet has shown respect to other religions, The Islam teaches its followers to respect other religions too,”
“I have been participating in programmes of all religions, since I believe that God is one,”
