Van crashes into a tree; three killed on the spot, one grievously injured

Davanagere: Three persons died on the spot after the Omni van in which they were travelling in crashed into a tree near Devigere of Jagalur taluk in Davanagere district, early Monday morning. Police suspect that the driver must have fallen asleep behind the wheels and lost control.

The deceased have been identified as Taj Peer (70), Rafiq (30) and Hafisullah (38).

Another passenger in the van suffered grievous injuries and is receiving treatment at Davanagere Hospital. The injured has been identified as Taj Peer Noor Jahan.

All the deceased belong to the same family. Taj Peer was a retired tahshildar.
