MIA terminal building to be extended

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru International Airport terminal building will be extended at a cost of Rs 132 crore.
Addressing the media, Director, V V Rao, said, “Tender has been called in for this project and the work is expected to start soon. The project is likely to be completed within two years. The first floor of the building extension will be reserved for departures and second floor for arrivals.”
International passengers will benefit greatly from the construction of the new arrival hall. The present arrival hall has a capacity to hold 250 people, whereas the new arrival hall can accommodate over 600 people. The current one has a capacity to accommodate only 250 people.
Wifi facilities will be made available for a span of 45 mins at the airport. Aroma dispensers have been set up in the airport which will automatically dispense the fragrance of ‘Mangaluru mallige,’ he added.
