Moodbidri: The election commission withdrew its notice on suspension of artiste – Poorneshwara Acharya from Kateel Mela for allegedly making a politically motivated statement with an indirect reference to Congress president Rahul Gandhi in one of the Yakshagana plays.
The yakshagana clipping had gone viral. The controversial dialogue was delivered by the artiste during a different yakshagana staged at Kasargod, Kerala in March.
The election commission has withdrawn its notice citing lack of evidence.
