ACB officials arrest village accountant for accepting bribe

Belthangady: A team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths nabbed a village accountant here for accepting bribe from a woman on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Harish Kumar, Puttila Village Accountant.
Based on a complaint from a woman, the ACB sleuths conducted a raid while Kumar was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the woman over disposal of 94c application. It has been reported that Kumar had already taken Rs 3,000 earlier and was demanding Rs 5,000.
Kumar was allegedly repeatedly pestering the woman since a year each time she approached him.
The trap was laid under the guidance of Shruthi N S, superintendent of police, ACB (Western Range). The accused was produced before the jurisdictional court.
