BJP releases list of 72 candidates, BSY to contest from Shikaripura constituency

Bengaluru: The BJP’s Central Election Committee on Sunday declared its first list of 72 candidates for the May 12 Assembly elections in Karnataka.
MP and state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa will challenge from the Shikaripura constituency, while B Sriramulu, party MP from Ballari area, will be the candidate from Molakalmuru in Chitradurga region.
Yeddyurappa, Union Ministers in-charge for Karnataka Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal and state BJP organising secretary Arun Kumar additionally attended the three-hour long meeting.
Central elections panel secretary J P Nadda discharged the list at a press conference. Modi’s crusades in the state and the projects of other Central leaders were talked about in the meet. The issue of countering the Congress and JD(S) were additionally raised, sources said.
