Small sugar weakens on poor offtake

Mumbai: Small sugar prices weakened at the Vashi wholesale market here today on poor offtake from stockists and bulk consumers.
While medium sugar ended mixed due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Small sugar (S-30) eased by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,890/3,105 from Tuesday’s closing level of Rs 2,900/3,105.
However, medium sugar (M-30) prices were quoted at Rs 2,980/3,252 as against Rs 3,000/3,242.
Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,890/3,105 (Rs 2,900/3,105).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,980/3,252 (Rs 3,000/3,242).
