D J Halli police nab 3 for murdering Ola driver

Bengaluru: The D J Halli police cracked an exceptionally complex case and prevailing with regards to arresting a trio engaged with the murder of an Ola taxi driver named Soman. 

Dhimanshankar Das alias Deepak (26), Aroop Shankar Das (36), the two natives of Assam and Bharat Pradhan (22) of Orissa were arrested by the police in connection with the murder. 

The trio plotted the murder just for their gain. To execute their plans they booked a taxi from K B Sandra in the city, regardless of them dwelling in Electronic City and Attibele to trick investigative offices. 

On March 18, they stopped approaching cars on KHB Road near Veerannapalya Railway Gate asking for taxi drivers for a ride upto Hosur in Tamil Nadu, adjoining state border near Attibele. Three taxicab drivers declined their oral request and asked them to book online for them to proceed further.

Ill- fated Rinson T alias Soman T L agreed to drop them at Hosur and settled a rental as Rs 1500 for the ride. The trio didn’t go through online payment procedure. The cab reached Sipcot Industrial Area in Hosur in the early hours of the morning in the wake of going through Nagavara, K R puram, Silk Board, Electronic City and Attibele tolls. 

After reaching Hosur, the trio asked Ola cab driver Soman to stop the car to take nature’s call. Detecting risk, driver Soman declined to stop and consented to drop them at their destination as soon saw possible.

After short distance, the trio consented to land from the car at a confined area near Bedarahalli Government School. 

When driver Soman stopped the car, they figured out how to physically attack Soman using blade and screw driver. Then, Deepak sitting at the back tossed the towel around Soman’s neck and choked him to death. 

They then dumped the dead body in a drain and fled the scene with Renault car bearing enrollment number KA-51-AA-9202 costing Rs 11 Lakhs, an iPhone costing Rs 40,000 and a Lenovo phone costing Rs 7000. 

Then, Krishnagiri Police enrolled a case under Section 174 of CrPC after they found a unidentified body and transferred the case to D J Halli police officers for information about the missing driver from different police station in the city. Deceased driver Soman’s dad identified his son’s body on March 25. Police after completing the initial examinations, inferred that driver Soman was killed for gain. In like manner they had registered  a complaint 67/2018 under CrPC sections 302 and 201 on April 5.

DCP (East) Ajay Singh Hilori framed an special squad to crack the case as there were no pieces of information identified with the killing. D J Halli police, in a joint activity with Banswadi police, figured out how to break the case after huge attempts. Specialized staff and witnesses assumed an essential part in helping the exploring group which at long last figured out how to capture the trio engaged with the murdering of Ola taxicab driver Soman. 

Over the span of the examination, the police found that the trio was additionally engaged with a case identified with abduction of a man named Jantu Das for ransom in RMC Yard Police Station confines on April 1. 

City police chief, ACP west and other senior authorities have complimented the police group for cracking the case effectively.
