‘Deliberate attempt’ on Minister Hegde’s life, investigation rules out the case

Haveri: Investigations concerning the late night accident of Union Minister Ananthkumar Hegde’s covoy has ruled out “attempt to murder him”.
Revealing the subtle elements, Superintendent of Police K Parashuram said the mishap occurred after the driver of the truck took a sudden turn and there is no proof to recommend “deliberate attempt” on Hegde’s life.
Truck driver Nasir Ahmed Mohsin, a resident of N R Pura in Chikkamagalur was driving the truck loaded down with grains when the accident took place. Mohsin confessed to the police he lost control of the vehicle because he was on mobile conversation.
Posting pictures and video of the mishap on Twitter, Hegde had charged risk to his life, guaranteeing that he just barely got away from a “deliberate attempt” made on his life.
The accident occurred on April 17 midnight when a truck rammed into the car in Hegde’s escort, harming the vehicle and fracturing the occupant’s shoulder. Hegde, who was going in another vehicle ahead of the car that met with the accident and managed to escape unhurt.
Further investigations are in progress, the SP said.
