Anil Kumar Bhandari elected as Chairman of Private Sector Consultative Board

Bengaluru: President of India Coffee Trust (ICT), Anil Kumar Bhandari was chosen as the Chairman of Private Sector Consultative Board (PSCB) of International Coffee Organization for a term of one year. PSCB is an International Coffee Organization body containing 16 leading industry representatives from producing and consuming countries. The PSCB’s principle mission and target is to expand the world coffee market in esteem and volume and furthermore support different activities in the field of coffee and health.
Bhandari is the principal representative of India to possess this vital post and his appointment is huge on the setting of World Coffee Conference (WCC) planned for Bengaluru, India, in April 2020.
Talking about his election, Bhandari stated, “My election as Chairman Private Sector Consultative Board of International Coffee Organization is a respect for India and India Coffee Trust. This is the first occasion when that India has led the PSCB. I consider this to be the confidence rested in India and ICT, going into the World Coffee Conference in 2020, which would be facilitated by India and will be held without precedent for Asia. It additionally demonstrates the premium that the Global Coffee Sector has in the Indian Coffee Industry and the Indian Coffee Market.”
The 121st Session of International Coffee Council (ICC) under International Coffee Organization (ICO) was held in Mexico City from April 9 to April 13. ICO is an intergovernmental assemblage of Coffee buying & producing nations, having more than 72-member nations and India is one of the establishing individual from ICO.
