87-year-old Kagodu Thimmappa is senior most candidate this assembly election

Bengaluru: Kagodu Thimmappa (87) of the Congress, who will challenge from Sagara constituency in the upcoming assembly elections is considered as the senior most competitor in the shred.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjeev Kumar Jha said that five candidates who are in their 80s have presented their nomination in the state. Among them, three are from Congress and one each from BJP and JDS.
Davanagere South electorate Congress candidate Shamanooru Shivashankarappa (86) is the second oldest candidate, followed by Yadagiri Congress competitor A B Malakareddy (82), Hanagal BJP applicant C M Udasi (82) and Sindagi JDS candidate M C Managoli (82). In the meantime, CEO educated that 3,374 applicants have submitted nominations from 224 constituencies.
The scrutiny of nomination letters is being finished. The aggregate number of applicants who will stay in the field will be clear by April 27 (Friday). Varuna-35, Hubballi-Dharawada Central-32, and 30 nominations from Raichur have been submitted. In excess of 95 constituencies, more than 16 applicants have recorded nominations.
