Kodagu: A new guest has been added to the Dubare Elephant training camp in Kodagu when the locals found an elephant calf which was separated from its herd a few days ago.

The locals had attempted to find the calf’s herd from the day they found the lone calf but failed to get any clue. The forest officials then brought the calf to the Dubare Elephant Training Camp. The calf is about 6 to 7 months old.

The calf is nourished with grass, vegetables and water and it is under careful watch by the officials. The calf is slowly getting accustomed to the surrounding in the new home. It has also got a personal caretaker Jayanna who is making its stay more comfortable.
