Youth posing as police loot 2.25 lakhs

Mangaluru: Youth posing as CCB Police threatened a Pan masala shop at Bunder near here.

The victim has been identified as Yakub.

It has been reported that, a gang of five stopped by Yakub and introduced themselves as CCB police. They scrutinized him and took possession of his two wheeler and his mobile phones. Yakub had kept cash worth Rs.2.25 lakh in his two wheeler. The gang took away cash from the vehicle.

On checking the CCTV footage in the area, it was found that the men posing as police personnel had taken away the money from Yakub’s scooter and kept it inside their car.  A case has been registered.
