Car crashes into a tree; woman dies

Belthangady: A car crashed into a tree after losing control resulting in the death of a woman and injuring 6 others. The accident took place at Guripalla Cross on Sunday evening of May 6^th.  

The deceased has been identified as Sumati (30), wife of Dejappa from Panjikallu Kapikad. There were 10 passengers in the gar including children.

The passengers including Dejappa, Poovappa, Bhavish, Prathvik, Pratima, Dinesh, Girija, Pradeep, Pratiksha and driver Shivaram have sustained injuries and have been admitted at private hospitals in Ujjire and Mangaluru.

The victims were returning back home after taking part in wedding function at Mudigere when this accident occurred.

The rash and negligent method of overtake led to loss of control of the vehicle which in turn led to the tragedy, informed the police.

A case has been registered at Belthangady traffic police station.
