Dharwad: Congress pioneer and President of Dharwad area unit H.V. Madalli passed away at a private hospital on Wednesday. Madalli was undergoing treatment at the hospital in the wake of having met with an accident while campaigning for Navalgund Congress candidate Vinod Asuti at Shalavadi on Monday night.
Apparently Madalli had endured head wounds after he tumbled from a bullock cart during the election rally. An unconscious Madalli was hurried to the hospital. He, however did not respond to treatment and passed away around 3:30 am on May 9.
AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and others had visited the hospital on Tuesday night. Communicating his sympathies at Madalli’s death, KPCC President Dr. Parameshwara in a tweet stated:
“Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of H V Madalli, DCC President, Dharwad Rural. He was a relentless worker and a sincere political leader. A great loss to INCKarnataka. May his soul rest in peace and god give strength to his family members during these trying times.”
