Congress BJP conclude open campaign with roadshows

Kundapur: Congress and BJP concluded the final day of open campaigns with road shows in Gangolli on Thursday, May 10th.
The BJP road show started from Rama Mandira, Gangolli and progressed on Gangolli main road and concluded at near port office. BJP candidate B M Sukumar Shetty was in open vehicle with thousands of activists supporting him by his side. Taluk panchayat member Surendra Kharvi, BJP’s Sukhananda Shetty, B Sadananda Shenoy and others were present too. The show echoed of slogans chanted in favour and praises of Modi and Yeddyurappa.
Congress candidate K Gopal Poojary went on a Pada Yatre from Bunder Port office to appeal to his electorate for votes. Taluk panchayat member Raju Devadiga, Gangolli congress committee president Durgaraj Poojary, grama panchayat members also joined him.
BJP activists caused a little bit of trouble as they shouted ‘Modi Modi’ to Congress candidate Gopal
Poojary who had arrived on the road in Gangolli.
Police had to intervene and send the BJP activists back. An embarrassed Gopal Poojary proceeded towards fisheries port. Congress activists were a little disturbed by the incident as well.
Gopal Poojary questioned the election officials on how they allowed BJP activists to continue with their procession for longer than the allowed time and thereby violating the rules. Confusion prevailed forsome time and finally election officials and police brought the situation back to control and allowed Congress Padayathra to proceed as well.
